OUR MODEL

We are a “house church,” meaning that we meet in a home.  While we aren’t opposed to large churches, we recognize that the early church met in homes, and there are many advantages of meeting in a home.  Here are a few of those advantages:

  • House churches encourage greater community and authenticity among believers.
  • House churches enable increased giving to missions, since there are no large building costs.
  • House churches prepare the way for the multiplication of churches in a community.
  • House churches offer greater hospitality and personal interaction.
  • House churches limit a church’s financial burdens and are more financially sustainable.
  • House churches are common around the world, so immigrants are often familiar with them.
  • House churches provide a more welcoming environment for seekers, who may avoid “big box” churches.
  • House churches require the service and contribution of all — the body of Christ working together.

There is great value when a small group of believers gather.  Jesus promised that “Wherever two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”  (Matthew 18:20)  In contrast to a megachurch where you can get lost in the crowd, a house church provides the unique experience of greater community, which leads to more authenticity, and eventually greater spiritual vitality.

Once God builds His Church, which He has promised to do (Matthew 16:18), a house church multiplies by adding another night and/or another location.  There’s no need for a million-dollar campaign or a multi-year building project.  We grow organically as the Lord expands His Church.
