Every church starts with men and women who are committed to a miracle: that wild belief that God can transform not only one life, but an entire community.
Churches are built with adventurous people who attempt the impossible, venturing into new land to spread the good news that Jesus saves.
Churches are built by passionate people who believe that God never ceases in His pursuit of humanity, but continually expands His Kingdom.
Churches are built by loving people who look beyond their own interests for the sake of reaching the lost, desperate, and dying.
Churches are built by courageous people, who face the darkness with confidence, knowing that the light of Christ will be victorious.
Churches are built by the “crazy ones” who believe that God can take a measly few and multiply by thousands for the sake of His glory.
If that sounds intriguing and you would like to see God do the impossible, let us know. We are praying for a team of men and women who want to (1) reach the nations in western Chicagoland and (2) experience the miracle of planting a new church. God can do anything, and He uses people like you and me, so we can see how truly awesome He is.

Without even hinting at csntoructing a law, I would like to express agreement with Ian’s conviction that the ideal, God’s best for us, but no means a law, is that Body members meeting together live in as close proximity as possible for the reasons Ian indicated. My wife Judy and I have been in fellowship with some precious brethren in Christ Jesus for eleven years, meeting in the simple/house manner. These sisters and brothers are inexpressibly dear to us, yet our homes stretch over an area about thirty miles diameter; therefore, the cost and time required for travel sharply limit frequency and extent of life interaction, and therefore limit love expressed in deed and truth, limit mutual discernment, encouragement, admonishment, correction, training in righteousness, and joint outward ministry involvement. If they could look more deeply into my daily life, I’m confident our Lord would use them to a greater extent, as iron sharpens iron, to confess sins and repent, to stimulate me to love and good deeds, and to stimulate my growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, all to the glory of God and my own peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Really liked what you had to say in your post, The Miracle of a Church Plant – The Abbey, thanks for the good read!
