Summary
The Jupp family ministers to students at Northern Illinois University. Most recently, we reached out to over 100 undergraduate students, including a cookout for 35 students without a church and the distribution of 25 Bibles to incoming Chinese students.
We desperately wish that we could wait until the economy improves, but the plain fact is that there are 18,000 souls at NIU that can’t wait for a better economy. They need the gospel now, and for some of our international students, it may be their only time to hear a clear presentation of the gospel.
The Details
- We lead the official Southern Baptist campus ministry at NIU.
- We need more financial support in order to move our family of five.
- If we receive enough support, I will be able to reduce to one part-time job rather than three, so that I can spend more time focusing on the college church.
- If we do not reach our goal, the funds will be used to help our family cover our commuting costs (roughly $70 per week) and to help us occasionally rent a room where we can rest with our kids, since we commute so far and are struggling under the financial burden of $4/gallon.
The Impact
Your support provides an immediate impact for the students at NIU.
- We reach out to dozens of international students each semester. We have shared Christ’s love with students from Russia, China, Columbia, Brazil, and India.
- We lead a house church of 15-20 people, which continues to grow as God leads students to us.
- We reach out to NIU and beyond, including a Chicago missions trip that included 15 students.
